First we must reduce the amount of water that we consume. By the use of new technologies, a lot of water can be safe in the industrial and agricultural sectors. A lot of water is wasted when it comes to the sanitation of factories. What Sweden propose is the use of Co2 cleaning. This is a type of cleaning involving the use of carbon dioxide in solid form, highly propelled dry ice particles out of a nozzle to clean a variety of different surfaces. This technology can be used for composite aircraft and automotive structures, cleaning complex medical equipment, and dry cleaning operations in an eco-friendly way. The CO2 required for these machines is recycled from other industrial uses. With a growing population the demand for food would be greater. More food means more water that is going to be use for agricultural purposes. In order to reduce the water in the agricultural sector my delegation propose the use of Soil Moisture Monitoring System and Micro-irrigation in order to save water in the agricultural sector. The Soil Moisture Monitoring System allows the farmers to irrigate just when the plants need it, this system also let the farmer know when the plants need fertilizers or/and water. By the use of this technology a lot of water can be save in rural communities or in big scale agricultural projects. The Micro-irrigation work by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots of plants. This system distributes water by small valves, pipes, tubing and emitters. According to study cases in Madagascar, this system led to a 41% increase in agricultural productivity and a 69% reduction of water usage. By the use of the previously mention technology a lot of water can be save and this water can be then use for drinkable purposes. The delegation of Sweden proposes the creation of subsides in order to increase the use of this technologies. If a country make a subside for the use of this technology, the country can give the water that was going to be directed to the company, to rural areas. It is also important to guaranty the access to clean and safe drinkable water and also a way to reuse some of this water. Sweden propose the use filters, lifesaver bottles, waste water systems and water seers in rural communities in order to give them an access to safe drinkable water. The use of this technologies is a cycle in which each of this will be by the hand of other technologies. First of all the creation of waterseers, this is a machine that you put on the ground and then it takes the vapor and transformthat to water that later is stored in a ground system where people can take it out. Then it is important to guaranty that the water is safe enough to drink. So in order to guaranty the quality of water my delegation propose the use of solar powered water purification systems. This system had a very lower cost and can easily be distributed to rural communities all around the world. This systems is cheaper because it uses cheaper materials to purify the water, but it has the same quality as others water filtration systems. In order to guaranty the quality in places were the people go away for water and want to drink it, there is a technology call lifesaver bottle which is a bottle that when you put water on it, it purifies it. This is a good technology for people that work in rural communities and have a faraway access to water. In some rural communities a waste water system is a good idea in order to reuse the water that they drink. This is a little underground dam that is connected to a toilet and then it purifies the water (not for drinkable purposes) that can be later use for the community. My delegation encourages to continue to use the WASH program since it shows incredible results. My delegation also propose the use of SIWI which can help the WASH program by providing experts into the field and it is willing to send capacitated personal to any WASH mission or programs around the globe. My delegation will also propose the rehabilitation of water points in rural places. A lot of rural communities already have a water point in which they can take out water but a lot of them are not working. By rehabilitating this points, the international community can make deep and sheep impact in the life of millions of people located on rural communities. It is important to provide a good health for children. My delegation proposes working with WHO in order to provide to children a treatment for water relatable illnesses. At last my delegation propose the use of WISI program in order to make conferences of water in order to discuss water relatable problems that can arise in the future, and also to develop new water technologies. Sweden is sure that with the use of the previously mention solutions and with the collaboration of the international community this is a problem than will be solve. Remember, this is a solvable problem.
