My around us work right from childhood motivated

My fascination in the field of Electrical technology
and my curiosity to know how things around us work right from childhood
motivated me to take engineering during under graduation. I choose Electronics
and Instrumentation as my major because of the implications it had in our daily
life and my fierce passion to explore the basics behind

During My under graduation, I learned the basic
fundamentals of Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation both theoretically
and practically. In the course of study, I was exposed to various modules such
as Electrical circuit theory, Electrical machines, Control systems, Digital
signal processing and VLSI design. I was astonished by the power of Electrical
& Electronics and understood the impact it had in our daily life. This made
me more inquisitive towards Electrical engineering and created an interest in
me to explore its grass roots.  I also
became well versed in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, VHDL and
Verilog.

The academic project that I worked during the final
year was titled Advanced Driver
Assistance system. It made use of visible light communication protocol
based on IEEE.802.15.7 and AVR Microcontrollers. This project involved PAN ID
matching method to control the speed of automobiles to a limited range. It was
rated one of the best projects in my college during that academic year. I also presented
a paper at a national level technical symposium on Wireless transmission of electricity.

During the final year of my study, I went for an in plant
training to Subashri bio energies (P) Ltd; This firm makes use of organic
poultry waste to produce electricity and this idea fascinated me. Here I was
introduced to the method of power production by using organic wastes at a very
less cost, I also learnt various techniques on power generation and
distribution. It was at this place, where I got to understand the importance of
eco-friendly power production and power production from renewable energy
sources. This made me more passionate about energy systems and I was curious to
explore the various techniques involved in it.

The major challenge that we face today in the 21st
century is providing energy to the increasing population and catering the energy
needs of modern industries. In India, we mostly rely on conventional methods of
energy productions from fossil fuels. This has taken a toll on our environment.
Thus there is a need for us to produce energy from renewable sources. I
strongly believe that by innovating eco-friendly techniques for power
production and by generating electricity from renewable energy sources, we can
cater the needs of the growing population and the current Industrial revolution.
This belief in me and my strong emphasis on production of electricity from
renewable sources made me to take the decision of doing a Master’s program in
Electrical engineering with specializing in energy systems. So that after my
graduation, I can work in a field that caters the needs of the society.

The reason I choose to study Master of engineering in
Electrical and computer engineering specializing in energy system at the University
of Alberta is that your university will provide me the platform where I can
learn to grow in the field of Electrical engineering and provide me the calibre
to match international parameters. I believe that you have one of the best
laboratory facilities such as the unique Nano & Micro fabrication facility
and RTX (Real Time, Experimental laboratory, the latest equipment’s and a
dynamic curriculum, which will enable me to understand and conquer modern
techniques to meet the current industrial standards. Being under the guidance
of your experienced faculty will help me to grow my knowledge and keep pace
with the technical developments. Your training will help me develop my
technical skills to manage the cardinal aspects of engineering technology with
potential to adapt, comprehend and innovate and thereby create a pathway for me
to cater the needs of this generation.

During my course of study both in school and college, I
also participated in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities. I
was an active cadet of the National service scheme (NSS) which is an Indian
government sponsored public service program. During my tenure as a NSS cadet, I
actively participated in many social and health awareness programs in remote
villages. These programs made me to mingle with people of various social
standards and ethnicity and this taught me the value of discipline and team
work, after graduation, I started working as a teacher in an international
school where I handled subjects such as Mathematics and Physics for grade
eleven students.  

I strongly believe that it is an Engineers
responsibility to make life better for everyone living on this planet. I
sincerely believe that my dedication towards commitment in everything I pursue,
along with my eminent academic records, qualifies me for the admission to your
university. I understand that I have to put in assiduous hard work and compete
with top scholars from all around the globe. I am ready to take on challenges
as I believe that opportunities are the ones we create. I believe that my
experience in your university is going to enhance my all round education and
will help me to build my career. Also, at this moment I want to thank you for
