The main hypothetical framework of this research involves around how the motives will impact SSCM activities. Based on prospects of multiple needs theory, researchers have suggested another framework. Grounded on the extant literature (e.g., Aguilera et al. 2007), this study that there are 3 motives that could drive firms to pursue SSCM practices. As discussed earlier Motives can be of different types Instrumental, Relational and Moral which will be separately discussed. The first one is instrumental (drive by self-interest), second one is relational (concerned with relationships among different members of groups) and moral (related to moral principles and ethical standards). This figure depicts the conceptual framework of model linking to the three motives mentioned. The model also depicts that the firms engage in responsible initiatives like SSCM practices like intrinsic and extrinsic motives. • Instrumental MotivesCorporate social responsibility theorists have asserted that firms will engage in responsible initiatives such as SSCM when these practices align with their instrumental interests of enhancing shareholder value (Reinhardt, Stavins, & Vietor, 2008).Self-interest is generally the primary motive; several researchers have said that the firms should focus on environmental practices. The practices may have good or bad impact on economic performance, so the impact should be monitored.  If the positive result of actions is greater than the negative one, then the actions are favorable. Positive benefits of sustainable supply chain management can influence the willingness of managers to implement such practices. Following the SSCM guidelines when a firm design their products and processes the cost might be reduced. Even though the results may not claim that Sustainable Supply Chain Management practices guarantee additional benefits, but they may help over a longer period. In summary or conclusion, we propose the following hypothesis ‘Instrumental motives will have a positive effect on firm’s Sustainable Supply Chain Management Practices’• Relational MotivesAn organization’s relational motives refers to the relationships among different members of groups. Stakeholder theory suggests that the firm will make certain efforts for the well-being of different groups engaged in relationship with the firm. Corporations are in a broad set of political and economic institutions, so what they need to do is to establish social legitimacy to survive. Legitimacy refers to the concerns as how a firm’s actions are perceived by others. Companies that deliver values to customers through provision sustainable products stand to benefit considerably. SSCM activities maximize the utility of stakeholders and firm must give priority to customers desires.In summary or conclusion, we propose the following hypothesis ‘Relational motives will have a positive effect on a firms Sustainable Supply Chain Practices’• Moral MotivesMoral values and principles are essential in any case. Researchers suggest that along with other values moral values are the one who play a critical role. Businesses have an ethical duty to make a positive contribution to the society and environment. Evidences confirm that the most individuals are concerned with fairness and justice.In summary or conclusion, we propose the following hypothesis ‘Moral motives will have a positive effect on a firms Sustainable Supply Chain Practices’Hypothesis: -H1: ‘Instrumental motives will have a positive effect on firm’s Sustainable Supply Chain Management Practices’H2: ‘Relational motives will have a positive effect on a firms Sustainable Supply Chain Practices’H3: ‘Moral motives will have a positive effect on a firms Sustainable Supply Chain Practices’Methodology:All theoretical constructs were measured using indicators that were adapted from extant SSCM and CSR literature. A5-point Likert scale with anchors ”strongly disagree” and ”strongly agree” was used for all nonperformance-related (i.e., motives and SSCM practices) indicators. Supply-chain management executives were selected as potential respondents to our survey.Research design:The research methodology which is selected for this research is the quantitative method because it clearly determines the relationship between the variable which are independent and other which are dependent variables and how the moderating variables enhance the relationship between two variables. Our purpose is to quantify the variables and to access the results.The design for the research is causal as we will look over the cause and effect of each variable. Furthermore, we must find the associations between the variables, so this design is the most appropriate.Population and SamplingTo analyze the hypothesis of our research, sampling technique is used. To avoid any biasness in the research random sampling is selected, in which everyone has the chance to be selected for the survey. To achieve the objectives and correct answers of the research questions of any study, data will to be gathered from the appropriate people. The proposed study’s objective is to examine the influence of Sustainable Supply Chain Activities on firm’s performance. Therefore, suitable targeted population for this study is Supply Chain Management executives, undergraduate and postgraduate students of different universities. Researchers do not strict their study to specific sample size usually. Study showed that the sample size between 30 and 500 are the suitable for research methods. Sample size for the survey is 100 respondents. Data CollectionThe data collection tool which we selected for our research is the questionnaires, as to conduct the survey from our defined clusters. Our measurement items were mainly drawn from the previous studies. These questionnaires were mainly distributed among supply chain executives of a rentable company and to students who are pursuing their studies in Supply Chain Management. Instruments:The data collection tool which we selected for our research is the questionnaires.
